Abstract
Inventory of morpho-sedimentary units on a 35 km trench of the coastline of the State of Rio de Janeiro allowed the identification of three beach-ridge generations. The first one was formed during a Pleistocene high sea level period which, in contrast to the present, exhibited lower littoral dynamics. The second and third generations are well defined beach ridges separated by a flat trough. They were built at 5000 and 3500 yr BP respectively. -from Authors
