Abstract
The transport conditions of the cumulus-oocyte complex (COC's) for embryo production can affect the embryo competence. Therefore, the development of a portable system could allow the transport of recovered COC's efficiently, consequently, achieving the successful conservation of their quality. The objective of the work was to evaluate the effect of two transport conditions of cumulus-oocyte complex for 6h on the in vitro production of blastocysts in cattle. Treatment 1 was directly matured in M-IVM in a conventional incubator. Treatment 2 and 3 were transported in M-Wash in an oocyte transporter and M-IVM in a portable incubator, respectively for 6 hours and then, were transferred in M-IVM to complete 24 hours of maturation. They were evaluated; cleavage (IVC day 2), morulae (IVC day 4) and blastocysts rate (IVC day 7), development speed and embryonic quality (IVC day 7). The blastocyst rate from three treatments, are no significant differences (p> 0.05) between the two transport conditions (27.2 and 28.1%). Furthermore, the quality and development speed were not affected by the transport conditions. In conclusion, the two conditions, transport of the cumulus-oocyte complex during 6h did not affect the viability of the oocyte observed in the cleavage rate and blastocyst rate.
