Abstract
In most societies, sex is a commodity that can be sold with varying degrees of commercialization. In the majority of cases, the sex trade not only occupies an important place in social life, but also carries with it complex webs of meaning and practice regarding sexuality, gender, social class, social mobility, power and morality. The population of men who have sex with other men in Lima, Peru, does not seem to be an exception in this respect.
