Abstract
The objective of the present investigation is to develop an asymptotic formulation for the diffraction by perfectly conducting convex surfaces starting from an uniform approximation of the canonical problem radiation integral. The asymptotic solution for the field radiated by a line source in the presence of a circular cylinder is thus uniformly derived and formulated according to a ray-optic scheme.
