Abstract
This work develops four subsystems that are oriented to form a high reliability micro-grid (MG) with a common DC node and with generation exclusively from renewable sources. The development includes: photovoltaic and wind generation, a battery bank and connection to the public grid. Each subsystem is fully developed and operationally validated through simulations under various operating conditions. In all the subsystems, the power stages are optimized by means of AC-DC, DC-AC and DC-DC electronic converters, as well as the control units through the implementation of several algorithms and operation and control strategies such as: maximum power points tracking (MPPT), finite control set, model-based predictive control (FCS-MPC), proportional-integral-derivative control (PID) and pulse width modulator (PWM). MATLAB, PSIM and PSPICE are used as computational tools to present the results at simulation level.
