Abstract
A model for the management of capstone courses of engineering careers is proposed, in particular in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and related. The model is based on Project-Based Learning (PBL), a scenario is configured that evidences a problem or a problem situation; students work on their information management skills, complementing them with the knowledge and experience of the teacher. The teacher plays the role of tutor, advises students and guides them in the process of autonomous learning; in such a way that they achieve significant learning and gain experience in very close or identical conditions to those that occur in the scope of their professional performance. The proposal is materialized in the subject 'Maintenance, configuration and evolution of software' of the Professional School of Systems Engineering of the National University of San Agustín of Arequipa.
