Abstract
Objective: To determine the effect of M. oleifera on E. coli BLEE strains genes CTX-M, TEM and SHV. Materials and methods: three strains of E. coli BLEE from different genes isolated from urocultures of Almanzor Hospital. Strains were exposed to Moringa oleifera seeds aqueous extract at concentrations of 5% and 10%. Subsequently, bacterial growth was quantified by spectrophotometry. Results: A decrease of the bacterial growth was observed, in comparison to the control, in E. coli BLEE strains genes CTX-M, SHV and TEM. Conclusion: M. oleifera has bacteriostatic activity during 8 hours, with E. coli BLEE genes SHV, CTX and TEM.
