Abstract
This research aims to compare the perspective between business administration students at The University of Zulia (Venezuela) and businessman as regards specific management skills demanded at the bakery, pharmaceutical and hardware sectors in Maracaibo, Venezuela. The theoretical framework was based on some of the most acknowledged authors as Robbins and Decenzo (2002), Alles (2009) and Whetten and Cameron (2011). The methodology used was descriptive/correlational research type within a field research design. Two populations were used, one made up of university students (a population census was used) and the other by companies from bakery, pharmacy and hardware stores, resorting to intentional non-probabilistic sampling. For the collection of the data, structured questionnaires with lickert scale were used as the primary source. An intentional non-probabilistic sampling was carried out. The data were gathered by means of structured questionnaires as primary sources. It is concluded that there are similarities and correspondences between the specific competencies of organizational management resources, structures and organizational processes, as well as in human talent and organizational development, learned and developed by the students of administration and those demanded by the managers in the economic activities addressed, which shows that the School of Administration and Public Accounting of the University of Zulia has a curricular mesh in correspondence with the labor demand, so that the students of the eighth semester are prepared to face situations in the bakery, hardware and pharmaceutical labor market.
