Abstract
Leadership is a fundamental piece in the functioning of the different types of organizations. In the education sector, organizations have different types of leadership which have been addressed by decades of research in the social sciences. The objective of this work is to describe leadership styles in educational organizations. The research corresponds to a theoretical documentary and/or bibliographic review. The leadership style is directly related to the functioning of the organization, both successes and failures. Educational organizations are increasingly directed towards more democratic, flexible and participatory leadership styles, based on decision-making based on the reflection of the different levels of the organization. There is no absolute leadership style, on the contrary, leaders apply different leadership styles depending on the need of the organization.
