Abstract
A novel modal solver for transverse anisotropic waveguide analysis is introduced. It consists of an Interior Penalty Discontinuous Galerkin Method combined with a standard Finite Element Method to solve the full-wave Maxwell's curl-curl equation. The method is employed to calculate the modal fields of an Electro-Optic Waveguide with a BaTiO3 thin layer. With a simplified multi-physics approach the Pockels effect is taken into account.
