Abstract
The paper presents the application of model-based predictive control (MPC) in the form of generalized predictive control (GPC), applied to the flotation process of a mineral concentrator plant, using the model of a pilot flotation column in the implementation. The objective of the work is to present the results of the application developed in the research and described in the article, in order to evaluate the behavior of the control strategy, including the cases in which there are temporary disturbances that produce strong drops with different duration times in the output variables. The effects on the system are evaluated as a function of the duration of the disturbances. It is intended to establish an indicator of the robustness of the control system and to show the effects it produces on the flotation process. The control algorithm is developed in Matlab. The results that verify the methodology are presented through graphs and tabulations.
