Nowadays, there is a need for professionals with research competencies that allow them to contribute effectively to the so-lution of problems that arise in society. This article presents a proposed model for the acquisition of such competencies in students of the Universidad Señor de Sipán in Peru. This research is based on a qualitative current, through the Participatory Action Research that seeks to generate a transformation in the students of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Universi-dad Señor de Sipán, the actors involved are two teachers and 120 students, for the development of this research the action research model of Kemmis & Mctaggart is used, who propose a process by cycles: planning, action, observation and reflec-tion. The results show that by developing actions in which students are directly involved, learning and permanent changes are generated. The development of research skills was achieved in the students, improving their ability to think reflectively and propose solutions to the problems posed.
