Abstract
We proposed a geospatial application with multimodal interaction focused on an improvement of user experience. The use of modalities such as speech and gesture recognition help to emphasize the necessity of a more natural interaction. GeoMap uses natural language processing as a tool to improve understanding of the commands made by the users, so they can achieve a natural interaction with the application. Also, gestures can improve the navigation over the presented map. The application is composed of four modules, each of them has the capability to interact with the user through voice and has its own functionality related to accessing data, searching, navigating and visualizing statistics. Results are presented as a performance evaluation of the application in order to measure its effectiveness. Furthermore, there are test results of the user experience according usability attributes to measure the user satisfaction.
