Abstract
Knowledge networks facilitate knowledge transfer, especially of tacit knowledge. Identifying the knowledge network inside the organization allows utilization of more organizational resources and guides forces of knowledge management. In this research, we have developed a process to identify knowledge networks. This procedure utilizes the analysis of social networks. Its application in a unit of a government institution leads to adjustments and the results are a good indicator that the process reveals the knowledge networks and the persons who are key to them. Identifying the knowledge networks inside an organization permits focusing the resources and forces related to knowledge management. Identifying the consulting network and the friendship network allows the key actors to be identified who serve as facilitators for knowledge management. For this study, the measures of degree, intermediation, and flow are utilized.
