Abstract
This paper introduces a new non-isolated high step-up dc-dc converter for high voltage applications based on the integration of conventional boost converters. The proposed topology can be employed in applications where a high conversion ratio is required and its main features of the topology are possibility of modularity of the structure, simple control implementation and natural voltage balance across the capacitors. A generic theoretical analysis of the topology with operation principle, static gain and voltage and current stresses in the main components is described in this paper. In order to validate the theoretical analysis, a prototype with 1 kW output power capability, 100 V input voltage, 400 V output voltage, and 50 kHz switching frequency was built and tested. The performance of the proposed converter and experimental results are presented in this paper.
