Abstract
Thermal annealing of the barium titanium peroxide precursor BaTiO2(O2)-3H2O within the pores of SiO2 glasses at temperatures above 700 °C leads to the formation of Ba2TiSi2O8 nanostructures with average crystallite sizes of about 40 nm. Nonlinear optical properties of the obtained samples are confirmed by the observed optical second harmonic generation.
