Abstract
The research describes the design of a transformer based on aluminum electrical conductors whose properties of conductivity, resistivity, weight and section present us with an innovative alternative for the massive electrification projects developed by the electric power concessionaires. For the design, the theoretical calculations are considered, the dimensioning of the aluminum conductor based on the efficiency of the traditional transformer that uses copper conductors for the electrical substations in the southern area of Lima. For the development of this model, the protocols of seven transformers were used, whose historical data were analyzed and considered to determine the viability, reliability and efficiency of the new 50KVA 10 / 0.23kV transformer ± 5% Dyn5 connection based on aluminum conductors. The results obtained were highly significant considering that the proposed model responds to the protocols of the sample transformers.
