Abstract
A mathematical optimization model was generated based on experimental data of obtaining liquid fuels from the catalytic pyrolysis of plastic waste. For which the trial version of the software "Minitab 17" was used performing a multiple regression of the data, being the target value, the yield of liquid products, and as variables, the temperature of pyrolysis operation and the catalyst/raw material ratio. An original model was produced and later an adjusted model in which it was found that the operating conditions that maximize the yield of liquid fuels are pyrolysis operating temperature = 654 °C, catalyst/raw material ratio = 1.2 %, for which the yield of liquid products was 83 %. It could also be determined by analyzing the physicochemical properties that liquid products obtained under óptimal conditions contained fractions of 9 % gasoline cut, 36 % Nafta/Kerosene, 50 % diesel cut-off and 5% residual. Similarly, a chemical composition analysis was carried out in which it was determined that the liquid products obtained under óptimal conditions contained mainly hydrocarbons, as well as a certain content of aromatic, halogenated, sulfur and oxygenated compounds.
