Abstract
The Pacific War represents a painful memory in the collective memory of the vanquished and a satisfying evocation for those who took the spoils of war. In this perspective, the study seeks to describe the participation of the altiplánicas women in the armed conflict between the countries; Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Using the qualitative approach and the documentary analysis, history in the Southern andes region materialized. It is concluded that women with indigenous countenances had a huge impact on and off the battlefield, who by the meager recognition went to anonymity, yet today, they deserve symbolic and historical recognition for teaching Peru the meaning of love for the homeland.
