Abstract
Tapered fiber filters used for the fabrication of optical filters were modelled using the Beam Propagation Method (BPM) to solve the corresponding propagation equation. Results of the numerical approach were compared with the experiments by using simulation parameters related to the fabrication process. The satisfactory agreement between the results indicated that BPM was promising candidate as a design tool for such structures.
