METHOD: A quantitative, descriptive, cross sectional and non-experimental study was carried out with the participation of 240 inhabitants for the district of Pimentel and 200 inhabitants for the district of Olmos; through a two stage cluster sampling. The inhabitants were captured in the corresponding districts during their availability in the two months of execution; we applied the validated questionnaire previous informed the consent, where a score >= 5 identifies a high risk of the skin cancer. For descriptive the statistical analysis were used the measures of the frequency, the percentage and the average. RESULTS: The Olmos district had a high risk of the skin cancer of 52 %, with a difference of 28.2 % with respect to the district of Pimentel. The high risk population is between 50-65 years (17 % and 7.9 %) and male (29.5 % and 12.1 %) for the districts of Olmos and the Pimentel respectively. The most frequent risk factor in both districts was that they lived or live in an area of the intense sunshine, with 89.0 % in Olmos and 92.5 % in the Pimentel.
