Abstract
The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of a mindfulness meditation program on impulsivity levels. A randomized controlled study was conducted, with 52 participants divided into a control group and an experimental group. To evaluate the impulsivity levels, the Barratt version 11 impulsivity scale (BIS-11) was used. The results show that mindfulness meditation effectively reduces levels of cognitive impulsivity (d = 1.85); as well as it is moderately effective in reducing the levels of global impulsivity (d = 0.77), motor impulsivity (d=0.64) and non-planning impulsivity (d=0.63).
