There are several problems that arise when constructing and managing this catalogue in public organizations, for this reazons, the objective of this study is to determine the status on the management of the catalogue within the IT services in the public sector, analysed from the perspective of the personnel working in the various departments or IT areas of the organizations. As a research methodology there is a field study based on a survey applied to 45 employees (bosses and IT workers) who work in 22 public institutions located in the province of Manabí, Republic of Ecuador, in this study they identify aspects such as: a) the professional profile of the personnel that works in this areas, b) the standards that apply to government, demand management and IT service management, c) levels of implementation of the IT services catalogue. The conclusion that stands out most is, that most institutions do not have their IT services catalog implemented: for the limited application of regulations and/or appropriate standards for the government, the management of services and the management of IT demand, among other important aspects.
