Abstract
The subgenus Tropiochirus Bernhauer 1903 of the genus Leptochirus Germar, 1824 is revised. Three species are described as new: Leptochirus (T.) marina sp. nov. from Colombia and Venezuela, Leptochirus (T.) mery sp. nov. from Ecuador and Bolivia, and Leptochirus (T.) milton sp. nov. from Ecuador. Lectotypes are designated for Leptochirus (T.) helleri Bernhauer, Leptochirus proteus (T.) Fauvel, Leptochirus (T.) tridentatus Bernhauer and Leptochirus (T.) zischkaianus Scheerpeltz. A new synonymy is proposed: T. helleri Bernhauer, 1903 = Leptochirus (T.) tridentatus Bernhauer, 1917 syn. nov.
