This qualitative research aimed at understanding the care management of nurses with a managerial position, the setting was the Central Military Hospital (HMC). Social representations were used as a philosophical and methodological reference. The sample was determined by saturation of speeches, it was made up of ten nurses with a managerial position, during the research process. An interview guide was used as a data collection technique and instrument, and thematic analysis was used for data analysis, generating 4 categories: recognizing the dimensions f care management, the role of manager, consi-dering the complexity of management. The study revealed as final considerations: The nurses with management position of the HMC consider that the dimensions of care management are the patient, the staff, as well as the environment, determined by logistics, and procedures.
