Abstract
The present study aims to identify barriers to cultural change in organizational settings. The dynamics in which organizations are inserted in the 21st century are rapidly changing. New technologies, government regulations, the speed of information and communication, among other elements, oblige organizations to constantly redefine themselves in search of satisfying internal and external demands and guaranteeing competitiveness. Change always brings resistance from some members of the organizations. A bibliographic, theoretical and documentary study was carried out. The main barriers to cultural change were identified, these being communicative and attitudinal. It is concluded that the successful implementation of any cultural change project must be the result of a planned process, with optimal communication strategies and the largest number of key members added to the project.
