Abstract
At present, companies are concerned about having talented employees and retaining them, assessing their potential as well as performance are key to the implementation of a succession plan that ensures their competitiveness in an increasingly globalized world and concerned with management. of human talent. In that sense, the objective of this research was to study the financial strategy for decision making in the person succession plan. The methodology used was referred to the application of the Nine Box matrix as a tool for the selection of the collaborator in a company in the financial sector for a succession plan. The findings show that in order to make an effective selection an evaluation of the potential and performance of the candidates is necessary. Five collaborators were evaluated, making it possible to make decisions regarding promotion, salary adjustment or increase, being the most suitable one that was located in the quadrant corresponding to future leader. It is concluded that, the application of the Nine Box matrix showed efficiency and effectiveness in the process of succession of people, promoting merit and qualification.
