Abstract
This is a study of 64 coprolites from the coastal area of Huarmey. Fifty were from various pre-ceramic eras; their age ranges from 6000 yr BC to 2200 yr BC. Six samples were from the Middle Horizon and eight were found in a stratigraphic context which was unclear. An attempt has been made to reconstruct the diet of people who lived at that time. Maize occurs in an appreciable amount dating from 3000 yr BC. -from English summary
