Abstract
The data of infrared analysis realised on samples cored in two swamps of the Derra dos Carajas (Eastern Amazonia), reveal five palaeohydrological periods during the last 30 kyr BP. Comparison of these results with the palynological data allows a new interpretation of how the short and important climatic changes have an influence on the palaeoenvironment.
