Abstract
In recent years, the metalworking industry has become a very important link in the Peruvian economy. However, this industry often faces challenges such as low productivity rates and lack of information for operators. Within this context, this study assessed a small metalworking company currently experiencing losses derived from late order penalties. Hence, the implementation of a Production Management model based on Lean Kanban, SMED, Poka- Yoke, Report A3, the 5S and VSM is proposed herein, seeking to optimize methods, organize workstations, and improve purchasing and Production Management, thus considerably reducing waste in the organization. Furthermore, through the implementation of this model, an increase in order fulfillment and productivity rates is expected, as well as a reduction in Cycle and Setup times.
