Abstract
This paper analyzes the worldview of the narrator of The Time of the Hero based on the cathartic effect, distinguished by achieving identification with the characters or scenarios represented in the text. To obtain that sensibility desired in the reader, knowledge of the mechanisms that involve the association of related patterns is essential. Therefore, concepts from Mario Perniola, Slavoj Žižek, among others, will be used to determine the development of this idealized reading project. Considering that possibility, it is assumed that during this process assimilation and rejection of information is present; moreover, a critical attitude is erected and even a repulsion for unethical acts (violence). The same will happen with respect to the approach of the representation of the story in the novel as a plot, because the reader requires a logical sequence that he can understand (he will bask logical sequences, although these are technically dispersed or confused); for that reason, the requirement based on his attention and his catchment will be necessary (so can be deny or accept an exhibited proposal, question it or ignore it).
