Abstract
The objective of the present study is to identify the influence of a virtual reality video game on the experience of immersion. To this end, a virtual reality video game was designed taken into account all the elements needed to the design of an immersive virtual reality video game, based on psychological evidence and immersion studies. The participants of the study were ten university students between 18 and 25 years’ old who had never played a virtual reality video game. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, delving into the sensation of immersion experienced when playing the video game. The results are analyzed using the evidence collected on the concepts of immersion, motivation, and psychology. Recommendations for the design of virtual reality video games are proposed.
