Several publications of Engel have presented information that suggest the presence of the Paijan culture in the Paracas Peninsula area. In spite of the inherent lack of precision in Engel's writings, after an extensive review of the documentation and collections made by Engel and their survey of the area, the authors found evidence of remains that technologically correspond to the Paijan culture. They describe their finds and critically examine the materials in Engel's collections. -English summary
