Abstract
Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the application of psychoeducational strategies in the development of social skills of Peruvian students of the sixth grade of primary education. Materials and methods: The research approach was quan-titative, experimental design and quasi-experimental, with evaluation before and after the intervention. The participants were divided into two groups: experimental (GE = 64) and control (CG = 62). The experimental group received psycho-educational strategies for the development of their social skills which were structured in 5 modules: skills related to rights and obligations, skills related to communication, skills related to feelings, alternative skills to aggression and skills for stress management. To determine the effectiveness of psychoeducational strategies, the Social Skills Questionnai-re was applied, an instrument with the required validity and reliability. Results: Statistically significant differences were found between the scores before and after the intervention (p <0.05), however, the differences in the control group were not significant (p> 0.05). Conclusions: The application of psychoeducational strategies proved to be effective since it managed to develop the social skills of Peruvian students of the sixth grade of primary education.
