Abstract
The configurations of pixilated detectors for x-ray imaging crystal spectrometers and x-ray pinhole cameras can be optimized based on the Shannon-Nyquist sampling and interpolation theory, since the observed spectra are typically oversampled. The degree of oversampling is quantified and alternative uses for redundant pixels are proposed. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
