This research had the objective to determine the effect of Piper aduncum “matico” capsules consumption on vital signs during acute high altitude change exposure. An experimental study was carried out with 20 participants divided in two groups: experimental and control. Vital signs were measured with medical equipment. Oxygen saturarion, systolic pressure and pulse frequency showed significant differences in both groups (p<0,05). There was a lesser decrease in oxygen saturation and systolic pressure, as well as a lesser increase on pulse frequency compared with the control group.
