Abstract
In Los Olivos district, Lima, Peru, a large amount of solid waste is produced, which is one of the main causes that contribute to environmental pollution. To help decrease pollution, the design of a mobile application, with specific activities of easy and simple operation, was developed. The mobile application was designed with Balsamiq Mockup, and developed on Android Operating System. This mobile application would allow people to know in real time how far away the solid waste collection services are. In this way, we seek to make people aware of the benefit that will bring to their health, since everyday people always generate solid waste or some type of unnecessary waste. In addition, waste collection points will be implemented, generating a greater benefit to the population of Los Olivos district. The bad habit of polluting would be left behind and a great step towards the solution would begin, to recycle. Also, the population would be part of the big change to have a better district that would avoid environmental pollution.
