Abstract
Vibrational modes property variations of diluted magnetic semiconductor nanocrystals of Sb2xMnxTe3 grown in a glass host system were investigated. Transmission electron microscopy images and energy dispersive X-ray analysis confirm the size, interplanar distance and composition of these NCs. Electronic paramagnetic resonance spectra confirm the incorporation of manganese ions in the Sb2Te3 crystal lattice due to the six absorption lines. Moreover, changes in Mn-Mn interactions are observed as xMn-concentration increases. The Raman- and IR-active vibrational modes of quintuple layer changes of the Sb2-xMnxTe3 NCs give strong evidence of the incorporation of Mn2+ ions in Sb2Te3 NCs.
