Abstract
The implementation of an Autonomous Surface Vehicle with water quality meter for monitoring a lake is described. The vehicle is a catamaran type and the guidance, navigation and control system was developed with a Raspberry Pi and a Pixhawk. For the sensors an arm was designed and built for submerging them at the measurement locations and during navigation. Furthermore, the MQTT protocol was used for sending the measured data to a remote server. The field tests showed how the ASV can effectively cover and take measurements in a rectangular area and the data was stored at the remote data server.
