Abstract
Nowadays, the dynamic behavior of structures subjected to extreme loadings has received special attention due to natural disasters and artificial forces generated by man-made actions. These external loads can cause loss of lives and structural and nonstructural damage to buildings and other structures. This work studies the dynamic behavior of contents inside structures under loads produced by earthquakes (Seismic Engineering) and explosions (Blast Engineering). According to the study case, buildings will have a linear or nonlinear behavior, generating history accelerations on each floor that will serve as input data to evaluate the dynamic rocking behavior of regular free-standing rigid bodies located inside the structure.
