The essential oil from leaves of Hedyosmum scabrum (R. et P.) Solms collected in Peru was obtained by hydrostillation and analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Monoterpenes (80.8%) consti-tute the majority of 52 compounds identified, with estragole (55.8%) as the main constituent. Sesquit-erpenes accounted for 9.5% of the oil. © 2007 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
