Abstract
A case of neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) was induced by the antidepressant trimipramine in a 47-year-old woman with obsessive compulsive disorder and major depression. NMS symptoms were associated with a brief episode of polydipsia, and both conditions may have had a dopaminergic dysfunction as a common etiology. The patient improved with bromocriptine and dantrolene.
