Abstract
In nature, embryo bipartition occurs spontaneously in less than 1% of cases. This event can be performed mechanically in advanced stages of embryonic development through the use of micromanipulators. This study aimed; evaluating optimal for bipartition embryonic stage embryo (without the use of micromanipulators). For this work 10 embryos produced in vivo by the technique of superovulation (SOV), five morulae blastocysts five excellent quality, which were divided manually handling means were used. After the division, the embryos were loaded straws with handling means, to be transferred to previously synchronized recipient cows. Three twin pregnancies with embryos in morula stage confirmed 35 days after the transfer. The artificial production of homozygous twins can still be performed under field conditions from embryos in morula stage. Future studies involving larger numbers of embryos, will be needed to confirm the preliminary results obtained in this experiment.
