Abstract
This paper contains a new alternative to control a pH neutralization process using a PID control with predictive characteristics. The structure uses a Wiener model of a pH simulator that corresponds to a bench-scale plant at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). The study concluded in a new alternative, named WPIDp (Wiener PID predictive) with good performance. We compare the new algorithm with a MPC linear predictive control evidencing the notorious advantages.
