Abstract
In this paper we present a computer program called MINERVA, a mesh generator to be used in a few views tomography, varying from three to eighteen views. For the discretization of the domain, we used a natural base, based on the intersection of all radiation paths from the source to the detectors. The direct problem is solved as a linear system A σ=h →, where A is a matrix related to the domain discretization, the vector σ represents the linear attenuation coefficients and h → is related to measures of the detectors. The inverse problem is solved using an Algebraic Reconstruction Techniques algorithm. Cases testes of industrial computed tomography images reconstruction are presented using as experimental data, simulated data with the code MCNP5. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
