Abstract
Internal communication allows to achieve the objectives of an organization, creating and maintaining good relations with and among its members, through shared messages through different channels. For this reason, the objective of the article was to diagnose formal and downward internal communication in an agrarian associative organization related to the integrated management of water resources. With a quantitative approach and mixed methodology, a survey of 169 users was applied and a focus group was conducted with 4 users. The results indicate that the average age is 53 years. 85.6% are male, between 41 and 60 years old (62.2%) with incomplete primary school (27.2%). 69.8% do not participate in courses, forums and seminars organized with other institutions because the place is far away (29%) and the schedule is inappropriate (30%). 35.7% are interested in productive crop management. Between 11 and 23.7% do not read the materials they give or apply what they have learned. It is concluded that internal communication is deficient, so its design must incorporate gender, androgynous and intercultural approaches, and be flexible and close.
