Abstract
The objective was to evaluate the methodological quality of the undergraduate theses approved in the period 2017-2020 in a Peruvian public university. The study corresponds to a quantitative approach, non-experimental design and was descriptive-bibliometric, where 110 theses of all the professional careers that the university has, available in its digital institutional repository, were analyzed. To assess the quality of the theses, a qualification format for the final thesis reports was used, an instrument with adequate levels of validity and reliability. The findings indicate that the quality of 80% of the theses was fair, 19.2% was good, and 0.9% was poor. On the other hand, it was determined that the majority of theses presented deficiencies, mainly in the discussion, bibliographic references and conclusions. It was concluded that it is necessary to develop the investigative competencies of advisory and co-adviser teachers so that they adequately guide students and thus be able to adequately develop their research. On the other hand, the choice of thesis jurors should be based on their experience and competence, who should be thorough when reviewing the thesis projects and reports.
