Abstract
This paper proposes the design of a remote monitoring, data acquisition and control system for a liquid hydrocarbon plant in order to improve the supervision and control system of the product reception, storage and dispatch stages. A prototype was implemented that simulates the behavior of the reception, storage and dispatch stages of the hydrocarbon plant, a SCADA system was designed and implemented that allows studying the temperature and level variables of the prototype tanks. There are two important results, the first is that the temperature and level variables in the storage tank have been measured and the second is that an industrial SCADA system has been implemented for the proposed prototype. It is concluded that the error when measuring the level and temperature variables in a real-time SCADA system of the prototype are small and therefore the proposed design is satisfactory.
