Abstract
The relevance of the study is based on the respect for human rights in women deprived of their liberty, because these are often violated within prisons, because many times this population is socially omitted. The objective of the study was to explore the comprehensive health of the inmates of women’s prisons in Lima-Peru. The research approach is qualitative, with a basic type of study, under a narrative design, using a nonprobabilistic convenience sample of 30 inmates with a minimum of 12 months of cohabitation, sentenced for various crimes. The results show that there is a health crisis in comprehensive health, magnified by the presence of the pandemic. Different difficulties are observed that women deprived of their liberty present, which does not contribute to the resocialization process and even more so, if there are health crises caused by COVID-19. It is concluded that women’s prisons should be centers for rehabilitation and correction, and not just centers for punishment and omissions of human rights. © Licencia de Creative Commons Atribución 4.0 Internacional (CC BY 4.0) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.es
