Economic development of a country goes by the innovative performance of its companies. Thus, the practice of innovation in the market is essential for good performance in the current global competitive market. The aim of this article is to expose the practice of open innovation approach used in the textile industry in developing technologies in products and/or processes. Therefore, an exploratory bibliographical study was conducted on the subjects: open innovation, technological innovation and textile chain. Later, an analysis of technological innovations in the textile business was made, which indicated that the practice of open innovation in the textile chain has been occurring with the participation of companies of this sector, universities and research institutes. On the other hand, it is still poorly practiced collaboratively between businesses, suppliers, customers and users.
